Pricing feels astronomical given the rundown state and lack of options, especially when you've got twin mattresses crammed into a space meant for four. You'd think with that kind of cost, comfort would be a priority.

matsumoto ryokan is right in front of the kyoto station, making it super easy to explore. the breakfast was truly amazing, served in a traditional style that really highlights local flavors. our room was spacious enough for our luggage, and we loved going barefoot inside like part of the experience!
